Adacel Warnings and Precautions
You should not receive Adacel if you:
- Have had a serious reaction to any component of the Adacel vaccine, the inactive ingredients in Adacel, or any other vaccine containing tetanus toxoid, diphtheria toxoid, or pertussis antigen. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
- Have experienced a coma, decreased level of consciousness, or prolonged seizures within seven days of any vaccine containing pertussis antigen.
There are a number of situations in which Adacel should not be given, along with several precautions and warnings people should be aware of before receiving the vaccine. However, it is possible that not all of the warnings or precautions were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your healthcare provider about the specific issues that may apply to you.
