7-Month-Old Baby (31 Weeks)
Picture Books
Right now your baby is listening to your words intently. She may watch your mouth and try to imitate you even more than usual. Because of this, you may want to spend a little time together each day looking at picture books together. Some babies enjoy looking at the pictures and hearing you say the words. Others may still only want to eat the pages. As long as you're both enjoying yourselves, it could be a truly productive way to spend a few minutes.
Even though your child's first words may still be a few months off, hearing the different sounds of their native language often helps give them a good foundation from which to learn. The meanings to the words will come later. Right now, helping your child to learn the sounds is giving her a great start.

Helpful Tips for Parents of a 7-Month-Old Baby
If your baby has not yet begun crawling, continue to have him spend some time every day on his tummy. Even though it is usually the least favorite position for most babies, it is the best way to help your child build the upper body strength necessary to accomplish a lot of the early developmental milestones. Just a few minutes a day will go a long way.
