Ciprofloxacin ear drops (Cetraxal®) are used to treat a particular type of ear infection known as otitis externa ("swimmer's ear"), a condition that can occur when the ear is exposed to water frequently. The antibiotic medication comes in one strength and is used twice a day (with 12 hours between doses) for seven days. It is approved for use in adults and children who are at least one year old. Common side effects include fungal infection, headache, and ear pain.
