Increlex Dosage

General Information on Using Increlex

Some considerations for people taking this medication include the following:
  • Increlex comes as a liquid that is given as an injection just under the skin (a subcutaneous, or SC, injection). It is usually given twice a day.
  • The injections should be given just under the skin in the upper arm, thigh, abdominal (stomach) area, or buttocks. You should change the site for each injection.
  • Do not inject this medication into a vein or muscle. It should only be injected just under the skin.
  • Your child must eat a meal or snack within 20 minutes before or 20 minutes after each dosage. If your child cannot eat for any reason, do not give the injection.
  • Inspect the medicine before each dose, and only use the drug if it is clear and colorless. Do not use this medicine if it is cloudy or discolored. 
  • Your child's healthcare provider will show you how to inject this medicine. Make sure you understand the instructions completely before using it. Be sure to ask questions if there is anything you are unsure about.
  • For this drug to work properly, it must be given as prescribed.
  • If you are unsure about anything related to your child's dosage of Increlex, please talk with your child's healthcare provider, nurse, or pharmacist.
