Who Should Not Use Increlex?

Your child should not receive Increlex if he or she:
  • Has cancer.
  • Has stopped growing (the bone growth plates have closed).
  • Has other causes of growth failure.
  • Is allergic to Increlex, mecasermin, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
In addition, this medication should never be given as an injection into a vein (an intravenous, or IV, injection).
