Ciprofloxacin Ear Drop Information
If you have otitis externa, also known as "swimmer's ear," your healthcare provider may prescribe ciprofloxacin ear drops (Cetraxal®). These antibiotic ear drops are approved for use in adults and children as young as one year old. They are typically used twice a day for seven days.
While most people have no problems while using ciprofloxacin ear drops, side effects are possible, and some people are more likely to have an adverse reaction to this drug, such as ear pain or itching. Informing your healthcare provider about all medical conditions you have and any medicines you are taking (including vitamins and supplements) will help your healthcare provider determine if the ear drops are right for you.
