Fluocinonide Topical Solution Information
By reducing inflammation and suppressing an overactive immune system, fluocinonide topical solution (Lidex®) can help treat certain skin conditions. Specifically, this prescription medicine is designed to treat dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, and certain other skin problems in adults. It is typically applied to the affected areas of the skin two to four times daily.
Although this steroid may help relieve itching and inflammation, not everyone can use it. Information on fluocinonide topical solution should be discussed with your healthcare provider before starting treatment to minimize risks and to help ensure safe treatment. For example, you may not be able to use this medicine if you have certain allergies, if you are taking certain medications, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Although most people tolerate this medication well, side effects are possible and can include burning, dryness, and other skin irritations. In most cases, reactions to the drug tend to be mild and easy to treat.
