Fluticasone Propionate Lotion Information

By suppressing an overactive immune system and reducing inflammation, fluticasone propionate lotion (Cutivate Lotion®) can help relieve itching and inflammation caused by dermatitis. This prescription medicine is specifically designed to treat atopic dermatitis in adults and children who are at least one year old.

Although this steroid may help relieve dermatitis, not everyone can use it. Information on fluticasone propionate lotion should be discussed with your healthcare provider before starting treatment to minimize risks and to help ensure safe treatment. For example, you may not be able to use this medicine if you have certain allergies, are taking certain medications, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Although most people tolerate this medicated skin lotion well, side effects are possible and can include stinging, dry skin, and common cold symptoms. In most cases, reactions to the drug tend to be mild and easy to treat.
