Pimecrolimus Drug Information

People who have mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis may benefit from pimecrolimus (Elidel®). This prescription drug is approved for use in adults and children as young as two years old. It works by suppressing the immune system, making it less active.
 
While most people tolerate pimecrolimus well, side effects can occur and may include headaches, common cold symptoms, and burning at the application site.
