Sklice Lice Medication Information

Sklice® (ivermectin lotion) is available only by prescription and is approved for treating head lice in adults and children as young as six months old. Specifically, this medicine works by paralyzing the lice and then suffocating them. It can also kill the nits (eggs) of the lice. Sklice only requires a single treatment, and does not require the time-consuming act of "nit picking" to comb out all of the eggs.

This medication is not appropriate to treat head lice in everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and what drugs you are taking before prescribing Sklice.

Sklice comes in the form of a lotion that is applied to the hair and scalp and left on for 10 minutes. The dosage is the same for everyone, regardless of age or hair length.
