Kinrix Uses

Off-Label Kinrix Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Kinrix for something other than the purposes discussed in this article (this would be known as an "off-label" use). At this time, using Kinrix as a catch-up vaccine for individuals ages seven and older (as discussed previously) is an off-label use.

Also, Kinrix is technically approved only for children who received their previous doses of DTaP and IPV as the Infanrix® or Pediarix® vaccines (given during infancy or toddlerhood), since all three contain the same types of DTaP and IPV (they are made by the same manufacturer).

However, in practice, it is not always possible to use the same manufacturer, and using Kinrix to complete a series that was started with different brands of vaccines also would be considered an off-label use.
