Who Should Avoid Kinrix?

Your child should not receive Kinrix if he or she has:
  • Had a serious reaction to Kinrix or any component of the vaccine, including the inactive ingredients, such as neomycin, polymyxin B, or yeast. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
  • A progressive neurological disorder, such as uncontrolled epilepsy, unless the condition is being adequately treated.
  • Had a serious reaction to any pertussis-containing vaccine before. Serious reactions (occurring within seven days of vaccination) might include:
    • Coma
    • Unconsciousness
    • Prolonged seizures.
