Lupran

Available by prescription only, Lupron® (leuprolide acetate) is a medication approved for relieving symptoms of advanced prostate cancer. It is also used to treat a condition where children start puberty too early (central precocious puberty).
 
Lupron comes in the form of a liquid that is injected just below the skin (subcutaneously) once daily. Your dosage will depend on your weight (in children), the reason this drug is being used, and how you respond to the medicine. Although most people tolerate Lupron well, side effects may occur and can include muscle weakness, fluid retention (edema), and hot flashes.
