Lupron^® (leuprolide acetate) is a medication that is available by prescription only and is approved for relieving the symptoms of advanced prostate cancer. It is also approved in the treatment of central precocious puberty, which is a condition that occurs when children start puberty too early. This medicine works by stopping production of sex hormones (estrogen and testosterone).
