Kids Home > 4-Month-Old Baby (18 Weeks)
Now that your 18-week-old baby is getting stronger and more curious, it is important to be on the lookout for potential dangers in places that were once harmless (such as the changing table and bouncy infant seats). During month 4, your infant is likely to start rolling over from his back to his tummy. This may also be a time to start introducing some formula. All baby formulas are very similar, as they are strictly regulated by the FDA.
You and Your Baby at 18 WeeksSo much is happening now. Your little one is discovering more and more about the different faces and places in his world. You might notice a bunch of new abilities each day. With his curiosity off the charts, you might observe him reaching for toys and anything else he might be able to get his hands on.
Be on the lookout for potential dangers in places that were once harmless. Now that he's getting stronger, the changing table (remember that strap that it came with -- it may be coming in handy these days) and those bouncy infant seats might not be as safe as they once were.
Major Developments for an 18-Week-Old BabyAt 4½ months, most babies are able to push up on their arms and support the weight of their upper body for a few unbelievable moments. Also, those tummy-to-back rollovers that may have happened by accident earlier are happening more and more, but on purpose now.
It is also very likely that your infant is successfully rolling over from his back onto his side or tummy or at least trying to.
Right now is a pretty amazing time to watch your baby grow and learn. His strength and sheer determination will dazzle you.
