Kids Home > Home Remedies for Colic

There is no simple answer as to how to best treat colic. No one single approach works for all babies. In fact, healthcare providers will often recommend that a family try one or several different strategies in order to deal with a colicky baby. Some of the possible home remedies for colic can include calming, dietary, and coping strategies.

Although it may feel that nothing can soothe your baby, there are some things that may help. Some comforting ideas and home colic remedies may include:

  • Bringing your baby into a calm, quiet room to be held.

  • Limiting outside noises and movement.

  • Making sure the physical needs are taken care of (i.e., not too warm or cold, well fed, clean diaper, etc.).

  • Swaddling or wrapping your baby in a soft blanket.
