MenHibrix Drug Interactions

MenHibrix Drug Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when MenHibrix is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
Caution should be taken when giving intramuscular injections, including MenHibrix, to people who are taking anticoagulant medications (commonly known as "blood thinners"). Make sure your child's healthcare providers, including the nurse giving the vaccine, know that your child is taking an anticoagulant.
If your child is taking an immunosuppressant, he or she may not receive the full benefit of MenHibrix, as the immune system may not be fully capable of responding to the vaccine.
In addition, with some vaccines (especially live vaccines), people taking immunosuppressants may have a higher risk for actually developing the infection from the vaccine, albeit a milder form. However, because MenHibrix is not a live vaccine, this is not a problem.

Final Thoughts

It is possible that not all MenHibrix drug interactions were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or your child's healthcare provider about the specific interactions that may apply to your child.
