MenHibrix Side Effects

Side Effects to Report

There are a number of rare but serious side effects with MenHibrix and other childhood vaccines that you should report to your child's healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:

  • A high fever
  • Any unusual changes in behavior aside from the usual fussiness that typically occurs after vaccinations
  • A seizure
  • Persistent, inconsolable crying lasting for three hours or more
  • Signs of Guillain-Barré syndrome, such as:

    • Weakness
    • Tingling
    • Paralysis

  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:

    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Swelling of the mouth or throat
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing.

Final Thoughts

Your child may experience some or none of the MenHibrix side effects listed in this article. Unfortunately, there is no way for your child's healthcare provider to know beforehand if your child will have an adverse reaction to the vaccine.

Therefore, make sure to let your child's healthcare provider know if your child develops any side effects while receiving MenHibrix or if something "just does not seem right." While it may not be related to the vaccination, your child's healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
