Natroba Uses

How Does Natroba Work?

The active ingredient (spinosad) causes lice to become hyperactive, after which they become paralyzed and die. Spinosad is derived from the fermentation of a certain type of soil bacteria. This is also used as an insecticide in lawn and garden products.

Can Young Children Use It?

Natroba is approved for children as young as four years old. It should never be used in infants under the age of six months old, since young infants are at risk for absorbing more of the medication through the skin. Natroba should absolutely never be used in newborns, as it can cause a dangerous side effect known as "gasping syndrome."

Off-Label Uses of Natroba

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this product for something other than treating head lice. However, at this time, there are no universally accepted off-label Natroba uses.
