Newborn Baby Bath

Your Mission -- Baby Bath Time With No Tears

Once you get all of your baby's bath items situated, you can start the fun bathing process. First, you can place your baby right in the baby bath after removing his or her clothes. If your baby bathtub does not have a sling, you may want to pad the bottom and sides of the little tub with a towel to prevent your baby from slipping and sliding around. Now it's time to get soapy!
  1. Begin by cleaning your baby's eyes, using one cotton ball for each eye. Dampen the cotton ball with warm water and gently wipe the closed eye, going from the inside corner out.

  2. Next, using the first face cloth and a dab of the baby cleanser, gently clean your baby's skin. Start with the feet and work your way up so that your baby's head is not wet and potentially cold for a long period of time. Make sure to clean all of those cute little baby-fat rolls -- grime has a way of finding those hidden spots!

  3. Once you have gotten your baby clean with the soapy face cloth, moisten the other cloth with just warm water and go back over each part of your baby's little body to rinse off the soap, taking great care not to get the water near the cord stump. The warm water can be a soothing ritual for your little one.

  4. Lastly, wrap your clean and cuddly baby in the hooded towel to get warm and dry. Now you are off to the changing table to get a clean diaper and outfit. Mission accomplished!
