Object PermanenceAt around 8 months old, babies may begin to have the ability to know that if you show them a ball and then hide it, the ball still exists (and they may actively search for it). This developmental milestone is known as object permanence and is the ability for your baby to understand that even though an object is hidden, it still exists. The best way to help develop this ability is to give your baby a secure and dependable environment to learn in. Offer her a routine that is both easy and consistent.
