Drug Interactions With Pimecrolimus

If alcohol, certain steroids, or other immunosuppressants are combined with pimecrolimus, drug interactions may occur. Some of these reactions could alter the amount of the medications in your blood or increase your risk for potentially serious problems. To help minimize your risk for these complications, you may need to be monitored more closely or avoid taking certain medications together.

An Overview of Pimecrolimus Interactions

Pimecrolimus (Elidel®) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the products that may lead to drug interactions with pimecrolimus include:
 
  • Alcohol
  • CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, such as:
 
 
  • Other immunosuppressants, such as:
 
 
 
    • Corticosteroids, such as:
 
      • Betamethasone (Celestone®)
      • Cortisone
      • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
      • Fludrocortisone (Florinef®)
      • Hydrocortisone (Cortef®)
      • Methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol®, Medrol®)
      • Prednisolone (Pediapred®)
      • Prednisone
      • Triamcinolone (Kenalog®)
