When to See Your Doctor for Pink Eye

- You or your child has yellow or green discharge or pus in the eye. This might be pink eye caused by an infection with bacteria (bacterial conjunctivitis).
- Pink eye symptoms do not improve after three days of treatment with antibiotics or after one week without treatment.
Keep in mind that every situation is a little different. Your healthcare provider is in the best position to evaluate you or your child and give recommendations based on your individual situation. Call your healthcare provider if you have any questions on whether you or your child should be seen.
