Symptoms of a Sinus Infection in Children

Does My Child Have a Sinus Infection or Something Else?

Several other conditions can cause a constant cough, runny nose, and congestion in children. Your child's healthcare provider will consider these before diagnosing a sinus infection.

Some of these other conditions include:

  • Allergies
  • Obstruction of the nose
  • Enlarged or infected adenoids
  • Whooping cough (with whooping cough, nasal symptoms usually improve after two weeks, at which time the cough gets worse).
