Vusion Drug Interactions

Vusion® (miconazole/zinc oxide/white petrolatum) diaper rash ointment seems unlikely to interact with other medications. Miconazole (one of the ingredients in Vusion) can interact with other medications, but this is likely not a problem, since very little miconazole is absorbed through the skin and into the body, where drug interactions occur. In particular, problems have been reported in women who took miconazole vaginally for yeast infections together with warfarin (Coumadin®, Jantoven®), an anticoagulant ("blood thinner") medication. It is not known if this problem can occur with Vusion ointment as well.

Although there are no known Vusion drug interactions at this time, more information may become available. For this reason, be sure to tell your healthcare provider or pharmacist about any other medications, vitamins, or supplements your child is taking in order to check for any possible drug interactions.
